About

The ExtraVALUE Art Award
This award was launched in 2016 by Erste Bank and is dedicated to those artists who have already been included in the program of das weisse haus / studio das weisse haus. The awardees to date have been Karl Salzmann (2017) and Ulrike Königshofer (2016).
The main goal of the residency is for it to be used as a source of inspiration, as well as to establish new contacts and expand his/her network. Furthermore, the presentation at the ACFNY should enhance the artists’ presence internationally.
The prize money of 3.000 euros is provided by Erste Bank’s ExtraVALUE Sponsoring Program to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Prior to the travel date, studio das weisse haus will support the awardee in finalising the concept for the exhibition, organising transport of the artworks and in making travel arrangements. The ACFNY will provide rent-free accommodation (studio with bathroom and kitchenette) in New York. It will also cover the shipping costs of the artworks from Austria to the United States as well as provide mentoring and all the essential components relating to the exhibition.
