Valeria Mancinelli (1986) lives and works in Venice and is interested in art and political activism. Since 2008 she is activist of the independent space for contemporary arts S.a.L.E. Docks and co-founder of the curatorial urban project Trial Version.

S.a.L.E. Docks is an independent space for contemporary, visual and scenic art, founded in Venice in 2007. It organizes shows, performances, seminars and publications whilst at the same time carrying out investigative work on the precarious culture of Venice, working together with others independent agents that share the idea of art as a common good. www.saledocks.org

Trial Version is a temporary urban project born in June 2011 in Florence. It spots and reactivates disused architectural spaces – apartments, shops, stores, garages- temporarily turning them in exhibition spaces, placing them at artists’ disposal.

Until now it has always carried on a curatorial practice  that is born on a collective and shared dimension, a curatorial practice based on transdisciplinarity and on the interpretation of artistic productions

that are involved to respond to needs of the context.

She has curated different exhibitions in Venice, Florence and Milan.

In October 2014 she will curate with Chiara Nuzzi and Stefania Rispoli the exhibition Afterimage at Galleria Civica, Trento as the winning project for CXC award.
