Bénédicte Le Pimpec

Bénédicte Le Pimpec participated in a short-term residency of studio das weisse haus, which took place from February 10 until March 3, 2014.

She cofounded Monstrare in 2007, an artist collective that aims to develop and produce art exhibitions. Their work includes -Rama, Translation, Chronique, among other exhibitions that have been shown throughout France and Switzerland. In 2009 she co-curated Space between, an exhibition that focuses on the relationship between art works and their archives at the Center of Art Bastille in Grenoble, France. Additionally, she collaborated on several exhibitions with a Geneva based independent art space, Piano Nobile and participated in a long-term research and exhibition project with the Fonds cantonal d’art contemporain, that explored the history of alternative art spaces and artistic production in the Geneva region.

In 2012 and 2013 she participated in a residency project and exhibition titled Technique & Sentiment at the Art Center of Neuchâtel.  She also co-curated a 3-month evolving exhibition, titled The Galápagos Principle, shown in Paris at the Palais de Tokyo.

She is currently leading a research project on the relationship of historiography and contemporary art and is exploring notions of history, memory and documentation, post-colonial studies & alternative forms of curating. She has contributed to several art revues and frequently writes for exhibitions and catalogues. She is currently a teaching assistant at the Geneva University of Art and Design, Switzerland.
