Our Partners for Short-Term Residencies 2015

studio das weisse haus aims to foster a network of creative minds working in Vienna and abroad. In 2014, we therefore reached out to art institutions with similar goals and ambitions across Europe. As a first result, studio das weisse haus has joined up with the German artist association Artists Unlimited and the Hungarian cultural center Art Quarter Budapest to host two short-term exchange residencies in February, 2015.

Founded in 1985, Artists Unlimited is a self-governing association of artists based in Bielefeld, Germany. Situated in an old paper factory, it combines work and living space for artists with a project gallery. Artists Unlimited also provides a guest studio for international artists and designers for a three-month-residency. As part of our cooperation, studio das weisse haus and Artists Unlimited have arranged a short-term exchange residency to take place in the month of February: studio das weisse haus has invited Bielefeld-based artist Uli Schallenberg to work in Vienna, while Artists Unlimited hosts Veronika Burger, one of our local artists, in Bielefeld.

Art Quarter Budapest (AQB) is an art and cultural center in the capital of Hungary. It aims to forge a network of international and Hungarian artists. Based in a former brewery, AQB provides working space for artists in the fields of fine art, photography, architecture, theatre, music, design and video. In addition, AQB hosts a residence program for international artists. studio das weisse haus is happy to be cooperating with an art institution from a next-door Eastern European capital. We are therefore delighted to invite AQB’s local artist János Brückner to Vienna, who will be working on a collaborative project with Lóránt Bódi. You can find out more about János Brückner & Lóránt Bódy here.
