Suse Itzel

Suse Itzel is one of the Artists in Residence of our Fall 2014 residency period at studio das weisse haus.

Artist`s statement

“The living-room and architecture itself – originally meant for human protection and relaxation – start up an own life or fall apart. Like a marionette interior is prepared to move. For the video „fallen – Fallen – traps“ different movable dummy-like props referring to european design history were built and set up. These sets were videotaped  as they were shifted and broken down. The processes of construction and collapse were repeated. The repetition interferes with the linear narration. The narration is being decomposed.”

Suse Itzel was born in Neuss (Germany) in 1984. She lives in Hamburg, where she graduated in Fine Arts at Hochschule für bildende Künste in 2012.
